The Florentine steak is an institution in Tuscany. This is a T-bone beef steak no less than 5cm high and weighing at least 1kg. Normally you can share. Traditionally it must be grilled rare, that is, rare. It is normally seasoned with aromatic herbs, extra virgin olive oil and salt before being cooked so that a delicious crust forms. It is the most famous dish of Tuscan cuisine and the cows come only and exclusively from Val di Chiana, a location in Tuscany.
Here we ate steak in a typical Tuscan trattoria in Valdera, a valley of 5 municipalities in the Province of Pisa.

The feast of the Madonna della Bruna called ''La Bruna'' in Matera is celebrated on 2 July each year.
It has legendary medieval origins which tell of a farmer who met the Madonna and brought her to the bishop.
This event led to the celebration of the Madonna with a procession to the cathedral.
It is both a religious and pagan holiday. It is the most important festival for the city of Matera and has become a very famous event.
In less than a month the festival will be celebrated in Matera.
Every year an allegorical cart is built in colored papier-mâché with religious subjects taken from the Bible.
To create the cart there is a public competition, in which artists and workshops can participate.
The party begins with the knight who sings the tune with the trumpet to make people pay attention.
At the end of the procession the crowd rushes towards the cart to destroy it and take the pieces home as a trophy.
At the end of the video you can see whole ''torn'' pieces that come from years of carts.
The end of the day includes fireworks that are fired from the suggestive scenery of the gravina (canyon)
The Marian cult in Matera dates back to the 8th century with Byzantine frescoes of the Madonna and Child. The Madonna della Bruna in the cathedral is of Byzantine inspiration. The name "della Bruna" has various interpretations, including the dark color of the frescoed figures (actually due to the fumes of the candles). A recent theory suggests a link with the Moravian city of Brno. Our Lady was previously known by other names such as "Santa Maria" or "Santa Maria dell'Episcopio".
