Venosa is recognized as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, located among the Lucanian hills which preserve magnificent monuments of its past, offering an immersion in a medieval atmosphere. However, Venosa was first of all the city of the Latin poet Horace, founded as a Roman colony that contains stories and places to be rediscovered.

Founded by the Romans in 291 BC. after having definitively defeated the Samnites, the name of the city could be linked to the goddess Venus, to whom the Romans dedicated the colony.

Venosa boasts a rich ancient history with an important Roman archaeological area in S. Rocco.

Among the highlights of the archaeological park are undoubtedly the thermal baths and the amphitheatre. Furthermore, there are many testimonies of private domus. The thermal complex includes several areas, such as the small brick pillars of the tepidarium and the mosaic floors with geometric patterns of marine animals in the frigidarium. There are also residential neighborhoods, including a domus with mosaics, and a block delimited by two paved road axes.

Melfi Castle is a medieval castle in southern Italy. Its foundation, at least from the elements still visible, dates back to the Norman period but has undergone several changes over time, especially in the Angevin and Aragonese era.

The origin of the castle of Melfi dates back to the end of the 11th century by the Normans, built in a strategic position that acts as a crossing point between Campania and Puglia. Its location was essential to defend against external attacks and as a refuge for allies. The structure was the site of "historical" events during the Norman era.

The Museum, located inside the Frederick castle of Melfi, presents the important archaeological documentation found in the Vulture-Melfese area. The funerary objects date back to the Archaic Age, revealing refined Daunian ceramics with geometric decorations, bronze armour, precious ornaments in silver, gold and amber as well as bronze vases of both Greek and Etruscan production.

The classical section focuses on extraordinary finds from the 4th-3rd century BC. including Magna Graecia red-figure ceramics and monumental vases with polychrome decoration with applied figures, of Canosin production, found in Lavello (ancient Forentum).

The Roman phase is documented by an exceptional marble sarcophagus from the 2nd century AD. with relief decoration, referable to workshops in Asia Minor which presents the deceased "sleeping" woman on the lid and on the lateral slabs Roman heroes and figures framed in niches.

Pietrapertosa is a municipality in the province of Potenza located near the suggestive peaks of the Lucanian Dolomites, it is part of the circuit of the most beautiful villages in Italy.
Pietrapertosa appears to be an ancient village that has managed to maintain its medieval physiognomy over time, especially in the oldest part located on the slopes of the Castle which still retains the ancient Saracen name of Arabat characterized by narrow streets and dead ends.
The typically single-family houses, arranged in a row from top to bottom, adapt to the conformation of the land, and become an integral part of the surrounding environment, so much so that the rock often takes on the function of the walls of the houses.
The origins of the town are uncertain even if the most accredited theories attest to a fortification, around the 4th century BC, by the Utiana tribe who occupied the upper and middle Basento valley.
In this location there is a tourist attraction called ''the Flight of the Angel'': Tied in complete safety by a special harness and attached to a steel cable the visitor will be able to experience the thrill of flight for a few minutes and you will be able to let yourself slip into a fantastic adventure, unique in Italy but also in the world for the beauty of the landscape and the maximum overflight height of between 108 and 130 m. in height, starting from an altitude of about 1000 mtrs
